How do I get my hair to flow easier?

I have pretty thick hair, and for a few months I've been trying to grow it out to about shoulder length, right now the back is big furry and puffy, and the front is kinda high, and the bangs for some reason swirve up when I part it to the side.

Whenever my hair gets in my face or something, if I put my hand through it to put it back, it then sticks up. It feels almost sticky sometimes.

my hair looks like a big braveheart-fro or something, its messy, and not in a good way, I find myself constently drenchign it with water to make it flow better!

My question is what can I do to get my hair to have a very natural, heavier flow? I use shampoo and conditioner everyday, and even put a little conditioner in before I dry my hair to keep in all day, and I also use a straigtening serum, although I don't think thats working...

Should I get a real hair straightener, will that make my hair less messy and make it stay down? Only problem is my hair may not be quite long enough yet...

hair straighteners are great things

but they take forever.

i have hair that sounds like yours and it takes me about an hour to straighten it. i would try putting a gel in it while its wet.

and then blow dry it a bit

Your problem is all the product you're using. Shampooing every day is rough on your hair and can make it oily. If you're going to shampoo every day, only condition every other day. And definitely stop putting conditioner in your hair before you dry it!! That's your biggest problem. If a conditioner isn't the "leave-in" kind it will make your hair look oily and nasty. What you want instead is an ant-frizz serum, and a good quality one.

If you want to straighten in a flatiron is good, you don't need to have long hair to use one, make sure the plates are either ceramic or ceramic-coated to reduce frizz. Good luck!

Stop putting so much product in your hair.
