I straightened my hair for the first time yesterday , how often are they safe to use ?? I use protective spray but don't want to badly damage my hair

i blow dry it after i wash it and straighten the ends every two days....and the ends of my hair are dry and nasty. i use two heat protectants on it too. i used to starighten all of it and it killed it. if u have shorter hair and trim it often i dont think it would be a problem. if u straighten your hair a lot i suggest one day investing in a high quality straightener such as a chi or sedu...they damage your hair much less. good luck :)
