they usually have really good straighteners at most hair salons..make sure its a ceramic straightner! all hair types are different so require different hair products...but i recommend a hair oil called Biosilk to keep your hair looking healthy...use it mostly on the ends though, you dont want your hair looking oily!

i know most beauty suppy stores have a great selection of hair straighteners, but i got a really good one at Fred Meyer. it is a 'straight to the maxx' straightener by Revlon. it makes my hair really straight, and it doesn't take very long to use it.

i hope this helps.

The Chi costs like $139. If you're not worried about money get that one. It works the best. But if money is important to you, buy either a conair or revlon ceramic straightener. They are about $25-35, maybe higher depending on the quality of it. You should always apply heat protector to you hair before straightening it though. And use Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner sleek and shine. Its what i use and its the best thing that keeps my hair straight (mine is really wavy too) Best answer? :]

No matter what products you put on your hair or what you use to wash/condition your hair all that will do is coat your hair and weigh it down.

What you need is a straightening iron. I just bought this one and its GREAT! It makes my thick curly hair turn pin straight and its quicker than blow-drying it straight.

This is the exact one I bought, it was cheap:

What you do is let your hair dry naturally and don't put any products (gel, mousse, etc) on it. When its completly dry you can use the iron. Just take a small section of your hair at a time.

That's it! There are a lot of irons out there that are pricey but this Remington one works great! If you're in a rush to get your hair done you can dry it with a blow dryer real quick and then use the iron.

P.S. The true test for me was the other day when it was rainy and humid...my hair stayed straight!!!!! No poof/frizz/curls!!!

Good Luck!!!

i get my hair damp and put fructic straightening moose in my hair then i use the conair until its straight as i can get it. then i just use a cheap old straightener. it stays straight all day and is still not my natural hair type in the morning

I've gone through many straighteners... including two or three professional ones. Right now I have the Remington Wet2Straight straightener (but of course I don't straighten my hair when it's wet... no matter what kind of straightener you use it damages your hair a lot!). It cost me 26.88 at walmart and is honestly the best straightener I have ever used. It takes me about twenty minutes to straighten my hair (it is very thick) and with other straighteners it took me up to 45 minutes to an hour! I really recommend you get this straightener!!
