How can I make my ugly, natural curly hair look pretty and straight?

I am happy how long my hair is, but I don't like it so curly. My hair is naturally curly. I am a plump girl, and my hair makes me look worse. How can I make my hair look lovely and straight like my friends. I tried using a hair straightener, but it doesn't really work well on me. I keep my hair clean ALWAYS!!! Can anybody please help me out! PLEASE!!!

yes i agree. i have really thick curly hair also. i bought a CHI hair straightener and it works great. it makes ur hair look pretty nice. hope this helps

I have very thick and very curly hair so I know what you mean....I'm sure the straightener will work you just have to put a lot of work in it. I take a shower, lightly blow dry my hair and maybe wait awhile for it to dry completely, and then take sections and with a really hot straightening IRON, go over the pieces....if you have a friend that could help its easier. When it's done I put a little bit of frizz ease lightly through it and then go over it once more. This is a lot of work so if you dont want to have to do this, I would suggest getting something a little more permanent. Or maybe you just need to experiment a little more with styling products...it took me awhile to find out what works for me and anything else it will look absolutely horrible (i have to use pantene conditioner, pantene leave in conditioner after the shower, and then pantene gel even though ppl say its bad to use gel and then put my hair in a towel) and that is the only thing that works for me...but a lot of ppl use different things so try experimenting first, maybe getting highlights so you like the color more if you dont already, etc

It will make the difference that you want and you will feel better about yourself. Your hair is one of the most important parts of your image. Don't make the mistake and not spend the money on it when it really matters.

i am the same ! after washing your hair put it in to bunches and then put another couple of hair ties half way do in the bunchy.. then when your hair is dry take them out, then straighten your hair !

The best thing you can do is stop calling anything on you, or about you, ugly. God gave you that hair and whether you like it or not God knew what he was doing when he gave it to you. And what makes you think that someone out there doesn't already think you are PRETTY just the way you are. Instead of using chemicals to alter yourself and try to "look like all your friends" try a different hairstyle to make your face look less full. I'm sure that you are a very pretty girl and your hair suits your personality, be happy and proud of who you are as an individual don't try to be "like" everyone else.

I agree with the first persons answer on good straighteners however CHI isn't that great. They break easily and only have a few settings.

I have extremely thick and wavy hair. I can straighten it all in 10 minutes.

I use to have to spend 45 with a conair straightener. do not get conair they suck.

Do not relax your hair. that will just damage it a lot.

I use SunSilk shampoo and conditioner and that helps a lot.

you could try going to a salon and getting your hair blown out but that can get expensive....
