Using hair straightening to curl my hair?

Ok, so I'm trying to curl my hair using a ceramic hair straightener (low quality about $40, 2 inches). My hair is naturally slightly wavy and comes about two inches below my shoulders. So I take a section, clamp it in the straighteners, then 'turn' the straightener once towards my header. Then, I try to pull down. But I can't -- my hair is kind of 'stuck' so I can't pull down. Does anyone understand what I'm saying? Help!!!

Just buy a hair curler... they are like less then $20 at drug stores or Walmart or someplace.

You need to wash and deep condition. Then use a thermal protector and blow dry straight. Then use a light moisturizer and flat iron your day away.

Honestly, i think the iron is too wide for what you want it to do. I use a 1 inch flat iron for curling. Works wonders. Try loosening the grip of the iron on your hair. Clamp it softly as you turn the iron. Good luck...

sry, but i dont think thats going to work. if u want to curl your hair, use a curling iron, not a straightner. thats a recipe for disaster. try to un knot your hair.

Make sure that they are turned off, as that will really damage your hair!

first of all your hair is to short for a proper curl so get some lose hair curler's curl your hair then put some mouse on your hair and scrunch it. that is sure t work ive done it plenty of times!!!

it gets caught in the straightener i suggest you take a smaller peice of hair at a time insted. Or you can find other ways to curl your hair (for example come out of the shower then make your hair damp, then braid it, leave it in overnight then in the morning put some cream (for hair) on it, or some mousse even some gel)
