Do you have to blowdry your hair before straightening it with a straightener?

No, you don't, but it does come out better if you blow dry it straight first and then straighten it with a flat iron. But of course your hair has to be dry, but it can air dry too.

it is really bad for your hair with you straighten it while it's wet. the best is to let your hair air dry, and then straighten it. make sure you put in a product to prevent your hair from too much damage before straightening/blowdrying.

Always have totally dry hair first.

Some kids will tell you "oh it's ok thats what wet 2 straight flat irons are for" are uneducated and are unknowingly ruining their hair.

You FRY your hair when you try to flat iron it even when it's damp.

yes even if you have a wet to dry straightner you need to blow dry before u straighten. If you dont thats what causes fly awaya and dry hair. Brushing your hair while wet also does this.

you can get the wet to dry straightener to skip the blow drying stage..but if you dont have one..then for sure you need to have dry hair before straightening it because the steam will stay trapped in the plates of your straightener causing your hair to boil and open meaning extremely bad heat damage, weak breakable hair, and split ends
