I use Citre Shine. It comes in a white tube with orange and black label. This is used on damp hair before you blow dry.

I also use Vavoom spray. It is in a clear bottle with black label. This I use on dry hair just to tame kinky hair and give it shine.

I have long hair and don't need to use too much of either of these. If alot is used, your hair might look greasier than what you would like. Start off with just a little bit of each. You can always add more if needed.

i have an andis multi-heat straightener...its black with ceramic plates...it works really well and it sounds like your hair is the same as mine...it takes me about 15 minutes to straighten mine and this straightener gets really hot...its good...a little heavier than you would expect but from experience if a straightener is really light it usually doesnt work worth crap...
