I've just discovered how wonderful hair straighteners are!?

I am now going to buy one, are they all the same or are some better than others? What should I look for? Also, what is the best way to straighten hair - I've never done it before!

I've just discovered how wonderful hair straighteners are!?

Now There are plenty of hair straightners on the market all ranging in price from the cheap $19.99 all the way to $299.95 Being the glorious GHD's.

It really all comes down to how much you'd like to spend $19.95, what can I say you get what you pay for. For around $100 you'll find ceramic irons made from "Highlift" They'll do the job for the money over time the plates do brown or burn them selfs out but will last you at least a year or 2.

On the other end of the scale lets say you've got some cash a pair of "GHDs" will last you forever and if you do break them they can fix them at a reasonable price, they also come with a year warranty and some deals will even give you free products. But check out ebay Australia and you can pick them up next to cost price being $200.00

As for how to Straighten hair, well make sure if you hair is curly either lightly straighten it first with a flat brush ( known as a Paddle Brush), be certain its bone dry or else the water will boil in the hair and dry it out real fast or else if you buy somthing like the GHDs just dry it off by hand and let the irons do the work for you.

I hope this makes things clear to you

NEVER USE A FLAT IRON ON WET OR DAMP HAIR , I have a GHD and i dont ever do it wet or damp let your hair dry fully ALWAYS before you use a flat iron.If you buy a revlon , read the online reviews to c if it dries the crap out of hair before you buy. Report It

Straighteners rule the world! Just make sure you get your hair cut more often if you straighten it a lot because you do actually get split ends faster.

GHD's are expensive but very good and remingtobns are quite good aswell and not as expensive.

The best way to straighten your hair is to use a big hair clip thingy and do it layer by layer.

Make sure you get a ceramic hairstraightener. GHD make the best ones so ask your hairdresser for stockists. When straigtening, straighten the hair layer by layer from underneath to the outside. You can also buy protector spray that protects your hair from getting dried out in the heat of the straightener.

get one that is narrow, and has ceramic plates. the ceramic is less damaging to your hair, and heats up much more easily.

the easiest way to straighten is to put all but the bottom layer of your hair into a big clip on top of your head. straighten the bottom layer, and repeat with the next one, and the next, until you run out of hair.

make sure to start straightening at your part (which is why you need a narrow straightener) so that you don't get an awkward crimp.

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A STRAIGHTENER MADE BY REVLON THAT DOES WET OR DRY HAIR. I PULL THE TOP LAYER UP AND DO THE UNDER SIDE OF MY HAIR FIRST, THEN THE TOP. I NORMALLY DO MINE WHILE IT IS ALREADY DRY THOUGH.

I am extremely happy with my Corioliss dry staightener. It will also put big curls back in once you've straightened it. I have VERY naturally curly hair and this is the first iron I've found that can actually straighten it. It also leaves my hair silky soft without damaging it. I got it over the holidays in a display at the local mall, but they're much cheaper on E-bay. Check it out at the link below.

GHD http://www.ghdhair.com/index.php?c=us is the best ceramic straightner, use GHD thermal protector

or their iron oil or WELLA HIGH HAIR flat iton spray http://www.wella.co.uk/pages/Home-SalonP...

to protect your hair before ironing .

Good luck

Don't use hair straightener a lot only once every 3 weeks because it will damage your hair if you use it more than that.I know people that used it a lot and they wish they had never used it because their hair was completely damaged.

Girl where have you been, its like a God-sent!!!!

There are different ones...you'll just have to look around!

I have tried all kind of flat irons even ones from salons and found the Conair Infiniti to work really well and it is 100% solid ceramic the only kind I will use. Also look for one with a temperature dial or a digital so you can adjust the heat for your hair. The slim flat irons like a 1" is good because you can get closer to the roots when you straighten your hair. Some like the Chi I read they break and the Hia, Solia and the Sedu have good reviews. Also Babyliss are good too.
