well i have really curly hair in the first place but it's really messy so i straighten it first with an iron then i use plastic curlers and roll them up starting from the bottom, you can use a bit of hair gel for each bit of hair that you want to curl, after you roll all your hair up you blast your hair dryer on the curls for a minitue or so, then you slowly take off the curls and use some hair spray {don't use too much cos the hair will look stiff and don't use too little cos then the hair will fall off easy)

you can also use a round brush and blow dry the top part and wrap the bottom part around the brush and blow dry it to make loose curls, but this way the hair gets frizzy very easily.

the third way is to use your normal hair straightener and wrap your hair around it like you do with your curling iron, but use a low heat setting cos you don't want to damage the end of your hair too much. The normal iron method works just like a curling iron but i've noticed that the curls are less bouncy and more zigzag like with this method. anyway i hope you find the method that you like.

it will work, the trick is to put the rollers the right way, for example if you place the roller in the middle and wrap your hair around it, you will get like mary kate and ashley curls but if you roll your hair with the roller like starting at the bottom you will get it like goldilocks, you knwo waht i mean, the angle matters as well, just use hairspray, and dont straighten it, the curls will eventually "fall" to a more natural look!

good luck
